SMART ELECTRIC BEND

SMART -All electric tube bending machine (9 axis) with 3D Visual Graphical Programming (VGP3D)

The SMART is an in-process, right-hand/left-hand, all-electric tube bending machine (9 axes) with 3D
visual graphic programming (VGP3D). Its features include:

  • loading and unloading operations managed within the VGP3D machine program;
  • multi-radius (up to 8 tool sets);
  • cost-effective operation (save up to 50% energy costs compared to electro-hydraulic machines);
  • minimum programming and set-up times;
  • extremely flexible;
  • constant repeatability over time;
  • interpolated traction and thrust bending with thrust torque modulation during bending cycle;
  • fixed or variable bending radius with the possibility to add booster;
  • automatic part feasibility simulation (with indication of tube collisions with the machine, tooling or other obstacles);
  • increased productivity with optimized, state-of-the-art bending cycles generated by VGP3D;
  • all adjustments made via CNC;
  • setup data is saved with the part program for rapid set up of repeat jobs;
  • eco-friendly design; no hydraulic oil, quiet operation, reduced electrical consumption via all-electric operation;
  • compatibility of existing bending tools (made by BLM or other manufacturers);
  • directly import CAD files (IGES and STEP) to create the part program or simply enter the tube geometric data.

AUTOMATIC HEAD FORMAT MACHINE AST30

Created from the consolidated experience of BLM GROUP in automatic tube machining, AST30 is a hydro-electric, integrated forming and stock removal unit guaranteeing:

  • forming force up to 8 tons;
  • possibility of having up to 6 work stations that can each work by ram or rotary operation;
  • repeatability and constant precision over time;
  • able to automatically process ‘head and tail’ operations to form on both ends of a tube;
  • provisions for having automatic loading and unloading;
  • ease of use thanks to the ability to save the entire job sequence along with each part program;
  • compact design and easy maintenance.

The machine achieves very high productivity thanks to the use of six individually programmed and operated processing stations.
The machine, configured the way it is, allows:

  • conventional end forming work such as flaring, tapering, and single or double flange;
    Integrating the management of forming and rotary / machining operations provides great cycle time savings, reduced loading and unloading operations and, consequently, an increase in both part quality and repeatability.
    The AST30 has six processing stations, which can be configured as follows:

  • six fixed tools;
  • five fixed tools and one rotating.
    Both configurations have a quick change device with manual pre-closing and part lubrication system.
